OUR BEGINNINGS

The founder of Hurstwood Keepsakes worked as a carpenter and joiner, working with an array of raw materials including wood, slate and stone. His trade quickly became more of an art, acquiring knowledge passed down from his mentors in the art of woodcraft.

ART OF A DIFFERENT KIND

In 2008 Hurstwoods Keepsakes founder decided to take the change of pace, moving to become a qualified digital artist and photographer. With a keen eye for beauty in every form, his work in carving beauty from everyday objects continued for over a decade.

THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE

After suffering the loss of both parents over the covid lockdown, our founder observed the anguish that it caused to the entire family. As both parents were cremated, it felt as if there was no physical memorial to honour the memory of his family's lost loved ones.
